The training aims to raise awareness about autism and dispel common myths surrounding the diagnosis. Participants will leave our sessions with a comprehensive understanding of the characteristics of autism in both male and female presentations, the necessity for environmental adjustments, the importance of sensory-seeking and avoiding behaviours, and the associated mental health conditions. Learners will also gain insight into Demand Avoidance.

• For anyone providing care and support for autistic people or people with a learning disability.
• Delivered by trainers from the National Autistic Society and Estia and co-delivered with an autistic co-trainer and a co-trainer with a learning disability.
• Covers selected Tier 2 capability learning outcomes from the Core Capabilities Framework.
• Face-to-face training at your organisation.
• A 1-day course, which consists of 2 x 3.5-hour sessions: 
  Session 1 – learning disability
  Session 2 – autism. 

Learners will examine protected characteristics, the significance of stigma and discrimination, and the legislation related to the Equality Act and the Human Rights Act. Furthermore, this training encompasses discussions on LGBTQ+ issues, British values, and neurodiversity in the workplace.

The training emphasizes the significance of teamwork, maintaining professional boundaries with both colleagues and service users, addressing sexual harassment in the workplace, and understanding the impact of gossip. Participants will engage in open discussions about what a positive workplace culture entails and explore strategies for preventing toxic working environments.

The safeguarding training focuses on safeguarding adults, addressing various types of abuse, outlining the proper channels to follow if abuse is suspected, and providing learners with in-depth knowledge about radicalization and incel culture.

This training helps learners understand various legislation related to reporting, recording, and confidentiality, as well as the importance of these processes within adult social care. Additionally, we can customize the training to suit your specific setting, working closely with you to ensure that staff are well-versed in your organization’s reporting and recording systems.

The training examines the various forms of self-harm, common misconceptions associated with it, signs to watch for related to self-harm and suicide, as well as the significance of gender in suicide and strategies to mitigate risk.

Ligature training will evaluate learners on their ability to conduct risk assessments and safely remove ligatures. This training addresses the risks associated with ligation and includes practical components for the removal of ligatures.

This training provides learners with an in-depth exploration of various mental health conditions, their risk factors, and treatment options. Participants will also gain insights into the importance of empathy, how to seek help, and the significance of prioritizing their own well-being.

This training explores the significance of unconditional positive regard not only in social care settings but in life as a whole. Participants will engage in role play during this interactive course and will leave with a deeper understanding of communication through body language, the importance of recognizing each service user's unique needs, and how to interpret support plans effectively.
